For Lesley Deans McIntyre, Consciousness-Lead Mind-Body-Soul Practitioner, Instructor and Researcher with a Doctorate and PhD in Integrative Medicine

This document outlines my approach to helping you as a client, student or website browser and what you can expect.  My role is to advise, inform and help facilitate your healing process, your personal development or your ability to help others.  I fulfil that role by providing: -

  • personal sessions in my clinic or via distance

  • courses in person or online

  • personal advice and guidance during personal sessions and courses

  • general advice by way of newsletters, articles, blogs, posts via social media outlets and research papers

  • up-to-date information from my research and the research of others

My approach follows the philosophy that our healing comes from within.  Healing is, therefore, a personal journey, and it is our responsibility to find what is the right approach and who is the right facilitator for us at any given time.  I believe that if you have found me, then I am part of your journey at least for now.

My approach also follows the philosophy that our physical symptoms and dis-ease are merely the tip of the iceberg.  To truly heal, we have to examine and heal the story behind the symptoms and dis-ease.  This story can include anything, such as periods of stress in your life, physical and deep-seated emotional trauma, your limiting belief systems, your learned and inherited conditioning, your relationships with others, your interaction with your environment and your lifestyle choices.

Over the years, I have achieved qualifications and collected certificates in various natural, holistic, complementary, alternative, functional and integrative healthcare modalities, including a doctorate and PhD in Integrative Medicine (further information).  My PhD research focused on preventative medicine and my passion for empowering people to help themselves.  Today I combine the best of my studies and experience and my natural intuitive ability to offer a unique, dynamic, consciousness-lead mind-body-soul approach to health and well-being.

Although I am a doctor of integrative medicine (IMD), I am not a medical doctor (MD) whose role it is to diagnose a disease or prescribe drugs.  I cannot, therefore, discuss or comment on your prescribed medication or provide you with a medical diagnosis.  I can help you to balance your system, potentially reducing your need for medication and any possible side effects that you might be experiencing.  This natural balancing approach is mostly energy-based, although it might involve hands-on healing, gentle tapping, gentle massage and structural realignment.  I am qualified to help you make beneficial changes to your diet, your exercise regime, your lifestyle choices and make recommendations for the use of nutritional supplements, healing foods, herbs and natural remedies.

Client Confidentiality

Your personal information, your sessions and our discussions will be kept confidential and handled as outlined by the policy, Data Held by Lesley , except:

a) when instructed and authorised by yourself.

b) for the occasional purpose of my teaching practice or own professional supervision where your name will always remain anonymous.

c) where some disclosure is required to prevent clear and imminent danger to yourself or others.

d) when and if required by law.

e) if I find myself as a defendant in a civil, criminal or disciplinary action from our relationship where client confidences need to be disclosed for that action.

f) if I need to consult other professionals to assist with your healing journey or personal development, I will only do so with your written permission or approval.

Please accept that your healing and personal development are your responsibility.  I am honoured to be a facilitator to help on your journey.  I see my work as complementary to whatever advise and treatment you receive from your general practitioner or medical consultant.  I do not recommend that you discontinue any medical treatment or change your medication without consulting your doctor.

My work has the potential to cover all elements of your healing and personal development journey.  Although it is designed to work in harmony with all other natural healing approaches, you should inform me of: -

  • any other healing work that you are currently receiving

  • any nutritional supplements that you are taking

  • any natural healing remedies you are using

Late Appointments

My appointment fee structure is per session.  Each session lasts between 30 and 40 minutes.  For in-clinic or online sessions, please be punctual.  Should you arrive late, I will not always be able to provide you with the full time allocation.  Should I be unavoidably late for our appointment you will still receive your full time allocation.

Cancellation Policy - Sessions

If you cancel a session, please give as much notice as possible.  I genuinely believe that if you cancel or miss a session, there is a reason for that.  If you are supposed to have a session at that time and place, then it would happen.  I reserve the right, however, to ask you for full payment for the session if you cancel within 24 hours from the time allocated.

If your session has been pre-paid, your fee may be refunded, carried over for a future session, or credited towards one of my courses.  I do not accept any liability for your personal banking fees or any losses incurred due to fluctuations in exchange rates.

Cancellation policy - Courses (In-person)

  • should you cancel your place at least 4 weeks in advance of the class a refund of your course fee will be provided - if between 2 and 4 weeks before an administration fee of £50 will be charged - if less than 2 weeks no refund will be provided although you can carry your course fee over to a future course with me or credit your account for future sessions

  • emergency cancellations will be dealt with on an individual basis

  • should you decide not to complete the full course after it has started no refund will be provided, you will not graduate the class nor be provided with CEU credits where applicable

  • should the course be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances I will inform you as soon as possible.  Your course fee can be transferred to a future course with me or a refund provided.

  • I do not accept any liability for your personal banking fees or any losses incurred due to fluctuations in exchange rates.

  • I do not accept any liability for loss of any travel or accommodation costs.  Students should, therefore, be wary of making any non-transferrable or non-refundable arrangements when attending in-person courses.  This also applies should I need to change the dates or the planned location.

Payments

When doing in-person sessions in my clinic payment can be made in GBP either by cash or cheque at the time of appointment.  I can also take credit or debit card details should you wish to make a card payment.  For distance, work payment is required in advance of your session, and payments can be made through my website by either credit, debit card or by PayPal.

For courses, payment is in GBP and is required in advance of your course.  Payments are acceptable by either debit, credit card or by PayPal through my website or by Paypal money request.

In paying for and accepting a session or a course from me, you agree that I may work with you or advise you as outlined above.  Although I am confident that I can help you in some way, I offer no guarantees.  The majority of my students love my courses and the information and experience that I share with them.  My clients often report experiencing reduced stress levels, less pain, better sleep, increased well-being and improvements in their symptoms or dis-ease.  Since my work focuses on your priorities, it is unlikely that you will experience a healing crisis.  Part of the healing process can, however, be a worsening of symptoms initially.  I will do my utmost to warn you so that you know what to expect.  Please understand that everyone is individual, and I cannot always predict how their system will choose to process deep healing work.  I am not aware of any risks or adverse side effects associated with my work.
